KARACHI: At least three people including a woman and a child were left seriously injured after an oil spillage near Saeedabad area of Baldia Town occurred to a collision between an oil tanker and truck, in the wee hours of Tuesday.
The oil tanker was reportedly carrying around 25,000 litres of furnace oil when it collided with the truck near Hub River.
The oil tanker’s driver fled the sccene after the collision ignited a fire on the oil tanker, meanwhile the collision left a visible hole in the tanker, causing oil to spill over the road.
A car slipped off the road and fell into a ditch due to the oil spillage and its passengers including the woman and the child sustained serious injuries. The injured were immediately shifted to the nearby Murshid Hospital.
Traffic police towed the oil tanker away from obstructing the road, while police started looking for its driver.
