A week-long special programs and cultural activities were specifically designed in connection with the celebrations of birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah here at the University of Management and Technology (UMT).
The events highlighted the different aspects of personality of the father of the nation and in order to make the youth aware of Quaid’s historic struggle for the creation of Pakistan and about his vision and Pakistan’s ideology.
President UMT/ Sitara Hilal Foundation (SHF), Rector UMT Dr Muhammad Aslam, DG UMT Abid HK Shirwani and Zahid Warraich Director SHF inaugurated the event by cutting the cake. National poems and songs, speech among students of different departments have been arranged.
The events also involved messages of Quaid-e-Azam, extracts from his speeches particularly with regards to rule of law, supremacy of the constitution and upholding of democracy.
The UMT president, while paying homage to the great leader, shared that Quaid-e-Azam firmly believed in law, justice and “we should stand united and re-affirm our faith in his teachings by strictly adhering to his principles of Unity, Faith and Discipline.” Furthermore, he said “on this occasion we should renew our pledge to work hard for progress and prosperity of the country.”
