Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has Qasmi Suri for the post of deputy speaker in the National Assembly.
Suri had won the election from NA-265 constituency in Quetta, securing 25,973 votes.
Speaking to the media in front of PTI chairman Imran Khan’s Bani Gala residence, Suri thanked the PTI chairman for nominating him and said that the party was determined to removing the deprivation of the people of Balochistan. “We will bring the province into the national mainstream,” he said.
Earlier in the day, Asad Qaiser, the party’s nominee for National Assembly speaker, submitted his nomination papers to the National Assembly secretary Tahir Hussain.
The nomination papers for the election can be submitted in the office of secretary by noon on Tuesday (today). Elections for the offices of the speaker and deputy speaker will be held on August 15 (tomorrow).
