LONDON: Doctors on Tuesday informed former Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif that his wife’s vital organs have been functioning normally.
According to sources, Begum Kulsoom opened her eyes after being placed on the ventilator.
Earlier on Tuesday, doctors had declared Kulsoom Nawaz’s condition as critical, adding that a review will be done on her condition to decide whether she should be removed from life support or not.
The doctors informed the Sharifs that begum Kulsoom’s condition had not really worsened since thursday but it was not of any relief as it had not even improved.
Nawaz was briefed about his wife’s condition by a five-member board of doctors in Harley Street Clinic where Begum Kulsoom has been undergoing treatment for throat cancer since the previous year.
Grief stricken Sharif family has urged the nation time and again to pray for Kulsoom Nawaz’s speedy recovery as she’s somewhere in between life and death.
Previously Nawaz along with his daughter Maryam Nawaz had reached London to celebrate Eid with ailing wife and mother, after seeking exemption from the accountability court hearing supplementary corruption references against the Sharif family.
Nawaz’s counsel on Tuesday filed a 7 day exemption petition from court appearances, so that latter can spend more time with ailing wife.
However, with the reference cases reaching their final arguments, political parties have been making an uproar, claiming that these are the delaying tactics being played the Sharifs to escape Judgement.
On the other hand, many of the notables passed on messages of prayers and best wishes to Nawaz’s ailing wife.
A group of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders on Imran Khan’s directive visited the hospital to offer sympathies with the Sharifs.
