LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that sensitising new generation with the great struggle of Muslims during Pakistan Movement is our national responsibility.
He said that project of Greater Iqbal Park is an important step towards this direction, which will play an important role in highlighting the historical importance of Pakistan Movement and Pakistan Ideology. He was addressing a meeting at Civil Secretariat through video link, which reviewed detailed progress on different matters of Greater Iqbal Park Project.
He said that Pakistan was achieved after numerous sacrifices and our forefathers made great struggle for it. He said that those who made sacrifices for this great struggle during Pakistan Movement are our heroes. He said that Greater Iqbal Park Project is a milestone in sensitising the new generation with historical importance of Pakistan.
He said that besides history museum a gallery of great heroes giving sacrifices during Pakistan Movement is being constructed in this unique project of the country. He said that the project will result in innovation of historical heritage and best recreational facilities will become available to the people and this project is will be inaugurated soon.
He issued necessary directions regarding the project and said that all facilities should be outsourced. He said that a comprehensive security system be evolved and outsourced. The chief minister said that provision of high standard edible items be ensured in food courts set up in the park and services of best outlets should be acquired in this regard.
He said that a separate company should be set up for running the affairs of the project in a better manner and immediate steps be taken in this regard. Lahore Division commissioner and PHA director general gave a briefing regarding progress of the project. Walled City director general, NESPAK manning director and concerned officials participated in the meeting through video link from Civil Secretariat.
